October 21, 2024 BIEHS Construction Schedule Update

Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School Families,

We have an important update for Belle Isle families and staff regarding the construction of the new Belle Isle Enterprise High School. Due to a culmination of factors, our contracted construction company has shared a revised construction schedule with OKCPS which has adjusted our targeted opening date from August 2026 to August 2027.

While we don't have all the answers to your questions today, we did want to share the information we do have with our families. Please know that district leaders are currently working diligently to develop contingency plans to navigate this situation, especially for our current 8th graders. We are committed to keeping the Belle Isle community updated throughout the process as we work to solve one issue at a time.

The OKCPS Board of Education agenda for tonight’s meeting included the two items below related to the BIEHS project. You can watch the board meeting livestream to listen to the board’s discussion on these two items.

• Information Agenda, Item 5.01 - Presentation with Possible Future Action on the Final Plans and Specifications and Advertisement for Bids to Timberlake Construction of the Belle Isle Enterprise High School Project
• Consent Agenda, Item 15.02 - Consider Taking Action Regarding the Timberlake Construction Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment for the Civil Plans and Specifications of the Belle Isle Enterprise High School Project
