All teachers have been informed as to whether your child is to walk home, ride the bus, wait for the daycare van(s), or to be picked up in front of the school.  Any changes to this status must be made by phone or in person to the office NO LATER THAN 2:00 pm on the day of the change.  This will allow us time to notify the teacher(s) and will prevent unauthorized dismissal.   

Please note that if a student is supposed to ride the daycare van and an adult arrives at dismissal to pick them up, the adult will be directed to the office to check out this student so that their identity can be verified as authorized to retrieve the student.  It is conceivable, though, that the daycare van will arrive in the meantime, and  that the student will still be sent with the daycare van.  In this instance, the adult will be directed to pick up the student from the daycare facility.  We apologize in advance for any hardship this may create, but it is essential to ensure the safety of our students.

Also, we will dismiss walkers at 2:55pm so that they can clear campus prior to general dismissal and the movement of the car line.  At 3:00pm, general dismissal will occur: bus riders & day care students are escorted to the South parking area and students who are picked up are escorted to the front of the school by their teachers.  We will load ONLY the first TWO (2) cars in the line and then allow them to move at the direction of our traffic director (signaling in the street).  Please be patient and do not attempt to load further back in the line—if this happens, we cannot guarantee the student is getting into the correct car with authorized persons.

Please note that Byers Avenue is a One-Way Street during the hours of school arrival and dismissal.  We have made contact with several individuals who have violated this law, and will now begin recording license numbers to turn into the Santa Fe Division of the Oklahoma City Police Department.  I do apologize for the hard stand on this issue, but our students who walk to/from school deserve the right to make it safely to/from school.
