2025 Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS)
Board of Education (BOE) Election
February 14, 2025, the Oklahoma County Election Board offically certified the results of the Tuesday, February 11, 2025, OKCPS Board of Education's Primary Election, summarized below (official certification report attached).
If one candidate garners 50 percent of the votes, plus 1 vote, they win the primary. Such is the case with the Honorable Paula Lewis, outlined above.
November 4, 2024, the OKCPS BOE approved a resolution calling the 2025 OKCPS School Board Election, attached. The three OKCPS BOE seats in the 2025 school board election are District 1, District 2, and the Chairperson seats currently filled by the Honorable Carole Thompson, the Honorable Lori Bowman, and the Honorable Paula Lewis, respectively. The filing period for candidates to submit Declaration of Candidacy forms to the Oklahoma County Election Board ended Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Following is information on candidates who filed.
The candidates for Seats 1 and 2, the Honorable Carole Thompson and the Honorable Lori Bowman, automatically won their elections due to being unopposed. Both incumbents currently serving on the OKCPS Board, they will start their next terms of office at the first regular, special, or emergency meeting following the Oklahoma County Election Board's official certification of the April 1, 2025, general school board election results.
