Named for Daniel Webster, Statesman and Orator
Daniel Webster was born in Salisbury, New Hampshire on October 24, 1782. During his college career at Dartmouth, he became known as a fiery and inspiring orator. Later, as a Congressman, a Senator and then as Secretary of State he gave impassioned patriotic speeches for which he gained a tremendous reputation. Webster died on January 18, 1852.
